Zoe Harkin

Zoe Harkin is a forest scientist with ten years experience in researching, design and implementation of forest carbon offset projects and forest carbon trade. As the Forest Carbon Specialist for the FFI/Macquarie Carbon Forests Taskforce (CFT), Zoe’s work currently includes high level technical oversight of the design and implementation of forest carbon inventory and accounting for a series of projects that aim to Reduce Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD), including projects located in Asia-Pacific and Africa. Her role also includes technical oversight of the verification process, as well as participation in international policy and methodological workshops. In her previous role as a Senior Forestry Consultant at URS Forestry, Zoe’s work included quantification; modelling and auditing of forest carbon offset projects; and she was a registered auditor for the Department of Climate Change (DCC) Greenhouse Friendly program, and the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme (GGAS). Zoe was recently nominated as a working group member of the World Bank Forest Investment Program (FIP), a special initiative established under the bank’s Climate Investment Fund. Zoe was also a member of the Indonesia Forest Climate Alliance (IFCA), which helps to advise the Government of Indonesia on REDD. Zoe is a Director on the board of the Institute of Foresters of Australia; and has been appointed an Honorary Fellow of the School of Forest and Ecosystem Science at the University of Melbourne.
