Vanessa Valdez

I studied a Bachelor in Biology in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM in Spanish). After working for a year in the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature (FMCN), I left for Townsville, Australia where I undertook a Masters in Science focused on Protected Area Management at James Cook Univesity (JCU). When I finished this degree, the Centre for Tropical Biodiversity and Climate Change at JCU offered me a scholarship for a PhD titled “Net Primary Productivity, climate change and biodiversity in Australias Wet Tropics." I am currently back at the FMCN leading the Climate Change Program.
