For the fifth year running, Forest Trends’ Ecosystem Marketplace is collecting data about forest carbon projects around the world to include in our State of the Forest Carbon Markets 2014 report. This is the only market-wide, freely available research tracking performance-based payments for emissions reductions in forests (last year’s report available here).
Forest carbon project developers:
We rely on your responses to ensure that our data is truly representative.
You can access the survey HERE (http://survey.ecosystemmarketplace.com/forestcarbon2014/)

Who should respond?
Organizations that supply carbon offsets from forest carbon projects to voluntary OR compliance markets should respond to the survey. Even if your organization has not yet sold any offsets, we do collect data on early-stage project development.
• If you value the market insight and transparency we provide. After all, our data is only as good as you make it.
• If you would like your organization to be listed as a forest carbon offset supplier on our website and/or in our report. (optional)
• If you would like your project information to be visible on the Forest Carbon Portal, a hub of information for potential investors, researchers, and other market participants. (optional)
Is my data confidential?
Absolutely. We present data about your project(s) only in aggregate, and we protect all sensitive financial information, including the volume and value of your transactions. We have never had a breach in confidentiality in the history of doing the report.
What if my organization responded to the survey in past years?
We have kept your project-level information safe and sound, but we would still like to get an update on any offset sales (volume & average price, by project) in 2013. This can be reported via the survey, email, or phone.
This year, we’re excited to be collecting more robust data on the co-benefits of forest carbon projects, from employment to endangered species protection. We’re also taking a closer look at buyer motivations and activities, from internal carbon pricing to customer engagement with offset programs. And our report will include new information on forestry’s role in emerging compliance carbon markets, including finance flowing to jurisdictional nested REDD.
