Five thousand households in three counties are set to benefit from a project that will reduce their daily firewood use by 70 per cent. The enhancing environmental sustainability and climate change resilience project through low carbon emission project will benefit residents of Kitui, Nakuru and Garissa counties. The project also seeks to anchor Kenya into the international Carbon Credit trading.
The project is funded by the Government of Kenya and implemented by Green Africa Foundation. GAF is an environmental organisation that champions sustainable use and management of natural resources.
