Bill Clinton, and a Clinton Foundation delegation, arrived at the Iskandar Airport in Central Kalimantan on July 20, paying a 2-day visit to the region during the Clinton Foundation Asia 2014 tour, and a first visit to the forestry projects in the region receiving support from the Clinton Climate Initiative.
Clinton paid the visit to meet working partners of the Clinton Foundation in Kalimantan, including the Orangutan Indonesia Foundation (Yayorin) Kobar, Rimba Raya Conservation (RRC) Seruyan, and Rimba Makmur Utama (RMU) Katingan.
Clinton began his visit with Dr. Birute Galdikas at Camp Leakey, a research station belonging to Orangutan Foundation International (OFI), located in the Tanjung Puting National Park, and the OFI's Orangutan Care Center and Quarantine (OCCQ) in Pasir Panjang Village, South Arut subdistrict, West Kotawaringin regency.
