At least 59 projects that are susceptible to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse effect gases have been identified by the Environment Ministry and its partners, with a view to submit them to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which is a tool created by the Kyoto Protocol.
From the identified projects, four of them have already been completely drafted and submitted to analysis, so that the necessary carbon credits be made available, as revealed by the country's focal point at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Changes, Abias Houngo.
Speaking to ANGOP, in the ambit of the preparation of the elaboration of the Second National Communication and the National Adaptation Plan, Abias Houngo informed that the validation work proceeds and it is expected the completion of a series of necessary information so that these programmes can be passed.
